Lincoln redface welder

Okay, some one told me that the redface and blackface are the same exact machine, just one has a red face plate. I know he can't be right. So can someone tell me what the diffrence is, I know there is one. Thanks. I have had a Black Face since spring of 1970, It is the same as my 68 Red Face.
