This is a tool that has a sharp blade that can be used to create a clean, straight edge. Another way to deckle the side of watercolor paper is to tear the paper. This will create a more organic and natural look.

Don’t skimp on mat width. A mat serves two purposes; it keeps the artwork from touching the glass and creates a visual space between the artwork and frame.
