Tend to build with a blend of reinforced stone, turian, with light accent. I find stable, arena, storm glass, and the people of the dragon sets to be overused which is very boring to build with. As for the location: zone D14 bottom center on the cliff side, C13 center right on the cliff side, E13 bottom left cliff enclave facing E13 top left. There is a small lake just north of Claw Outcrop on this map. I always like to set up my second base there because there are a ton of resources nearby and it's close to many NPC camps. We were thinking near the sinkhole due to its central location but I've been reading on here that that doesn't really matter and I guess with an obelisk it doesn't. Plus it looks like the purge level is lower there and we enjoy a good purge. Easily my favorite spot outside the northern highlands. Near the Hand of the Maker is really good for single player. If you're concerned about resource spread, most of the North has high amounts of iron and coal. Directly east of the mounds of the dead has a great deal of resources and the Wights for gossamer.

The only things i can think of you will have to run for is silver, gold, volatile glands and aloe. Aloe is int he oasis southwest of shattered springs. Silver straight south of springs in rhino ridge. Gold from obsidian at the volcano. Volatile, my best source is the iguanas from jungle..
